Kitsap County Public Works received a federal safety grant that will help pay for projects including improved roadside lighting, speed radar signs and upgraded warning signs, the county announced last month.
The grant will advance projects selected through the county’s annual Traffic Improvement Plan, which identifies traffic safety needs suggested by residents and county staff.
The federal safety grant will pay for improved lighting at high-collision intersections and curves, upgraded warning signs on high collision corridors, new speed radar signs for corridors with high collision rates, clearing of obstacles on roadside shoulders and recessed pavement markers.
