Poulsbo weather shelter to open; freezing temperatures expected

POULSBO — A severe weather shelter at Poulsbo’s First Lutheran Church will open Saturday and Sunday, with below-freezing temperatures expected this weekend and early next week.
The shelter will be open each night from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. Guests will not be able to check in after 9 p.m.
Two shelters will also open in Bremerton on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, according to a news release from the Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management. A shelter for teens will open at the Coffee Oasis, 822 Burwell St. and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 700 Callahan Ave., will host an all-ages shelter.
Temperatures may drop below freezing on Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
