Nearly 30 percent of registered Kitsap County’s 143,670 registered voters have cast ballots in the Aug. 17 primary, according to the county Auditor’s office.
A total of 41,869 ballots were tallied as of Monday.
Voters must postmark mail-in ballots today. Ballots can be dropped in a box at the Poulsbo Fire Department station at 911 Liberty Road, off State Route 305 and several other Kitsap locations.
The primary is the first test for candidates seeking local, state and congressional offices in the Nov. 2 general election. North Kitsap voters will also decide a measure creating a metropolitan park district to support a planned community center at Kingston’s Village Green Community park.
The Auditor’s office expects to post early results by 8:15 p.m. Tuesday. Check NorthKitsapHerald.com for updates.
