At least two stolen cars were found stripped and abandoned in South Kitsap this week, the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The first vehicle, a 2000 blue Honda Civic coupe belonging to a Seattle man, was found shortly after 10 p.m. Sept. 7 on SE Burley-Olalla Road between Bandix Road and Olympic Drive.
The deputy described the vehicle as a “rolling chassis” that was missing its bumpers, hood, engine, interior trunk deck and lights. The vehicle was only a frame, wheels, tires and some sheet metal. Two license plates were also left on the car.
The vehicle had been reported stolen by the Tukwila Police Department, and the registered owner was contacted.
The second vehicle, a 1999 blue Acura Integra owned by a Seattle resident, was found on Forsman Road SE near Agape Court SE in Olalla.
The vehicle’s engine and instrument panel were missing, and the ignition was destroyed. The deputy noted that the seats had been “unbolted and moved around.”
The registered owner was notified and the car was impounded.
