Readiness to Learn honors ‘leaders in education’

The Olympic Educational Service District 114 hosted an event May 7 for the Readiness to Learn (RTL) program and Western Washington University’s (WWU) human services program to recognize “heroes” of RTL.
The event was packed with administrators and community members from as far as Suquamish and Port Orchard chatting and visiting amongst themselves. The morning began with the showing of a video from YouTube.com called “Star Fish Story – Making a Difference Every Day.”
Crystal Hill, youth services director at OESD 114, and Dr. Sandra Cross, director of the human service program at WWU, partnered to give out awards to 34 individuals, companies and school districts, themselves included.
