Caught in the act
A 36-year-old Poulsbo man was caught taking a bow and arrow from a Poulsbo residence April 28 by the next door neighbor.
He was seen driving away in a small gray car, accompanied by a woman.
The woman he was with was later contacted by deputies on an unrelated complaint.
She admitted she had been with the man earlier that day and they were looking for rental homes. But she denied either of them went inside any homes.
When deputies said they had a witness account she said the man had gone inside one on Clear Creek Road but didn’t take anything.
After she heard the witnesses’ statement she admitted the man had taken the compound bow and arrow but she had made him throw it into the woods. She offered to take deputies to where he lived.
Deputies arrested and booked the man in jail for burglary. His bail was set at $10,000.
Deputies took the woman to where she said the man had thrown it. No bow or arrows were located.
What’s totaled? This car?
A 38-year-old Gamblewood woman was arrested and booked in jail for possession of methamphetamine and for operating a vehicle without valid certification.
While driving on Gamble Bay Road on April 30, deputies ran the license plate of a 1993 Prelude two-door.
According to the license status the car wasn’t insured and had been reported as totaled by an insurance agency.
Deputies stopped the woman driver who confirmed she knew the license had been cancelled but didn’t know it was a crime to drive the vehicle.
She was arrested and placed in handcuffs.
Deputies searched the car and found two plastic baggies containing methamphetamine.
Deputies were tipped off by finding a bag with a peculiar eight-ball pool design, a sign commonly used by drug users and sellers, according to the reports.
Her bail was set at $5,000.
No serious injuries reported in accident
A 38-year-old Poulsbo woman and her 15-year-old son were treated and released from Harrison Medical Center on Monday for injuries from a two car accident on State Route 3. The accident was caused by an unsafe lane change in front of the 4Runner by a Toyota pickup.
The woman turned her car to the left to avoid hitting the truck and left the roadway. As she re-entered onto the highway she hit a 2006 Nissan Titan.
The 33-year-old Bremerton man driving the Titan was not injured.
The woman’s 4Runner was totaled and the Titan incurred $7,000 worth of damages.
