An avid jogger, bicyclist and indoor soccer player, Jones, too, is enraptured by all the North End has to offer.
“The waterfront on all three sides, the mountain view; it’s centrally located … it’s just an ideal place because you can go anywhere in a short time from there,” Jones said.
From his research into the district — he, too, is impressed with the guiding principles and the community’s diversity — he’s determined that NKSD is a good professional fit for him.
“There are some wonderful things going on there,” he said. “It’s very impressive that you had the community support to build a second high school.”
Both finalists will visit the area April 29 to May 1 to tour the schools and meet teachers, administrators, tribal members and the community, according to the release.
Community members interested in meeting the candidates can attend a community reception at 7 p.m. on April 30 at the Student Support Services Building, 18360 Caldart Ave. NE in Poulsbo.
