The first football game meeting Sept. 9 at Silverdale Stadium between Central Kitsap and rival North Kitsap since 2007 was memorable — at least for the Vikings.

Powered by a 27-0 blitz in the second half, North Kitsap overcame a 13-7 halftime Cougar lead to overwhelm the hosts 34-13 for a nonleague win.

Prior to their clash, both the Cougars and Vikings were tied for 10th place in 2A state football standings.
