Jack (Far Far) Mathiesen | Passages

POULSBO — Jack (Far Far) Mathiesen passed away peacefully on Dec. 13. He was 90.

He was the husband of Eva, who passed in 1999. They shared 50 years of marriage together.

Jack was born on July 22, 1926 in Copenhagen, Denmark to Carl and Flora Mathiesen. He was a bicycle racer for many years in Denmark. He, Eva, and their sons, John and Frank, moved to Yucaipa, California in 1959, later moving to Poulsbo, Washington in 1973.

Jack worked as a sign painter, owned Nordic Sign Studio, and enjoyed building and flying model planes. Jack and Eva were square dancers and spent most of their time outdoors.

He is survived by his sons, John (Evie), and Frank (Maylene); and four grandchildren, Jeremy (Chandra), Jamie (Michelle), Dane and Sara (Harold), all of Poulsbo.

There will be no formal services per his request.
