Dorothy Lee Janes

Dorothy Lee Janes, 87, died in Bremerton on December 27, 2016. She was born in Port, Oklahoma on July 29, 1929 to Bunnie and Dessie Hopkins. She graduated from Port High School in 1948 and married Charles Janes on October 31, 1948 in Sentinel, Oklahoma.

Dorothy worked as a waitress, retail clerk, and homemaker. She retired from Smalley’s Lakeside Drug in 1995. She was a member of Church of Christ in Port Orchard. She was a dedicated wife and mother who loved spending time with her family and traveling with her husband.

She is survived by daughters Deanna (Dale) Erstad, their daughters, Angela and Shannon Erstad and her great-grandson Nikoli Roksandich, Patti (Mike) Roush and their children, Justin, Abe (Jennifer), and Brandon as well as their children, granddaughers Brooke (Bryan) Burnett and Jodi (Brian Hooper) Roush (daughters of Brenda), sister Maureen Freeman, of Oklahoma and numerous special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Charles Janes, and by daughter Brenda Roush, her parents, four brothers, Marlin, Earnest, Dean and Louis Hopkins, and five sisters, Eula Mae Janes, Pauline King, Viva Janes, and Ethel Cofield.

Visitation is at Rill’s Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard on Wednesday, January 4th from 5 to 7pm. Graveside service is on Thursday, January 5th at Miller Woodlawn at 11am followed by a memorial service at the Church of Christ in Port Orchard on Salmonberry Road.
