Becky Erickson was pounding election signs into the ground in my neighborhood this past Saturday morning. I went out to greet her, offered her a primary piece of my real estate, then helped her pound a sign into it.

I then asked her a rhetorical question: “Why are YOU spending your valuable time pounding signs?” Of course, I knew her answer; however, I still ask our community that question. It’s such a waste of her time.

I was so pleased to learn that she wanted a third and final term — yay for Poulsbo! — then later learned an inexperienced candidate, who probably regrets running, stepped in as well. So Becky must play the election game. In my view, it’s a waste of her time when she has so much more accomplish.

Becky has been so good for our community; I look forward to her next term. She will continue to address the community’s needs in her fair and mindful manner. Our community will benefit from the planning and execution — immediately and down the road.
