The Olympic League tennis brackets went through May Madness May 8.

In the singles bracket, North Kitsap’s Teegan Devries dominated as the first seed. She defeated teammate Ava Obernberger, Olympic’s Emlyn Coulter and teammate Elaina Soboleski without losing a game.

She faced the No. 2 seed, Sequim’s Kendall Hastings, in the finals and won 6-0, 6-1 to cruise to districts as the champion.

Soboleski and Coulter bounced back in the consolation bracket. However, Olympic’s Bailey Walton dominated and defeated Soboleski for third place.

The doubles bracket sparked havoc. Nine-seed Viking duo Iliana Brockett and Elley Robertson started a Cinderella run to the championship match. The two won 6-3, 6-2 in their first match over Kingston’s Kianna Clay and Kyle Sandstrom.

Shortly after, the two upset teammates and No. 1 seed Beckham Ochs and Olivia Cary 6-4, 7-5 with power and dominance at the net. On the second day of the championships, the run continued with a victory over 4th-seeded Port Angeles 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

The pair fell short in the finals match against Bremerton’s Elena Andreu and Claire Warthen 6-2, 6-0.

Ochs and Cary cruised through the consolation bracket, defeating two North Mason teams and a North Kitsap team consisting of Tiffany Le and Julia Beatty. The two ended third in the doubles bracket and qualified for districts.

Olympic’s Bailey Walton finishes third and qualifies for districts.

North Kitsap’s Iliana Brockett makes a cinderella run as a nine-seed.

Izzy Kim leads Kingston to a doubles win.
