Kingston boys go to 6-1 on the season

The Kingston High boys basketball team defeated Tacoma’s Washington High Tuesday, 58-55. The win puts Kingston’s record at 6-1.

Ryan Byers led the Buccaneers in scoring, with 17 points. Aaron Lawrence had 16 points and sank six of seven free throws.

The Bucs play their next game at 6 p.m. Jan. 2 at home against Chehalis’ W.F. West High.

Kingston girls stymied by Archbishop Murphy

The Kingston High School girls basketball team fell to Archbishop Murphy Monday, 45-28. Kingston is now 4-3 on the season.

Sophia Baetz led the Bucs with 11 points and six rebounds. Laura Wicklein had six points and six rebounds.

The Bucs return to the hardwood at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 29 at Lynden Christian High School.
