Kitsap Baseball Post 68 swings its way to two more victories

On Friday the Kitsap Baseball Post Post 68 played a double header against the Bethel Huskies and dominated both games, 19-4 and 10-0.

Game one: Robert Jordan, Eric Eley and Levi O’Hara-Mclaren pitched and Josh Horst caught. Jordan threw the first five innings giving up only one run on three hits with two strikeouts and two walks. From the plate: Andy Smith, one hit a triple; Daniel Orr, two hits two hits; Kramer Uvila, two hits, including a double and two RBI; Bradley Durham, two hits and four RBI; Reuben Smith, two hits and one RBI; Jamaal Smith, one hit a double and two RBI; O’Hara-McLaren, two hits; Eley, one RBI; and Horst, one RBI.

Game two: Reuben Smith pitched and Jamaal Smith caught. Reuben threw a complete two hit shutout with three strikeouts and one walk. From the plate: Chris Jones, three hits and two RBI; Jamaal Smith, a homer and two RBI; Kyle Murray, two hits including a double; Durham, two RBI; and Uvila, one RBI. The Post has a 24-5-1 record.

On Saturday the Post forfeited a game to Budd Bay of Olympia, as only eight players were able to show up. It was the Post’s first Legion League loss but the team is still in first place.

Kingston High hosts football camps

The Kingston High football staff will be conducting two non-contact football camps to introduce and teach the fundamentals of football and the Buccaneer style of play. Both camps will be at KHS Buccaneer Field. A youth camp for third- through eighth-graders will be held from 1-3 p.m., and a high school camp for ninth- through 12th-graders is from 6-8:30 p.m., July 28-31. Cost is $80 for both camps.
