Baseball contest to benefit Elton Goodwin Memorial Foundation

PORT ORCHARD — The Elton Goodwin Memorial Foundation and Graham Kapowsin baseball are joining with South Kitsap High School for the annual “Tribute To Our Troops” baseball game between the Wolves and Eagles varsity teams on Saturday, April 20.

The two teams will gather at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma for a 3 p.m. start. Admission and parking are free. Each team will wear camo-print uniforms to commemorate the troops. Each jersey will be embroidered with the name and rank of a local service member. Colors will be presented by South Kitsap ROTC.

In a ceremony prior to the game, players and spectators will honor South Kitsap’s Washington State Hall of Fame Coach Don Smith and the retirement of his jersey number.

Donations made at the contest will go to the Elton Goodwin Memorial Foundation (www.EG29.org).
