The Sheridan Park Community Center Gym is open to the public and free. Players must provide their own basketballs. Sessions run each Wednesday through June 18 from 1 to 4 p.m.
Bremerton’s baseball team dropped a heartbreaker Wednesday, falling 4-3 in a rescheduled game against Olympic. The Knights held Olympic scoreless for six innings, taking a 3-0 lead into the top of the seventh, but senior Eli Olson couldn’t get the final three outs in relief. Trojan Elliot Thorsen hit the game-winner with two outs and his team down 3-2 in the seventh. BHS (2-8 overall, 2-5 league) scored each of its three runs in the bottom of the third.

The Central Kitsap Babe Ruth baseball league still needs coaches for the upcoming 2008 season. Coaches are needed in the senior division (ages 16-18). Coaching requires three evenings per week from now through the beginning of June. Senior sign-ups take place Wednesday, April 9, and Monday, April 14, in the Central Kitsap Junior High cafeteria. Players must bring a copy of their birth certificate. Cost is $175.
On Tuesday the Bucs traveled to Port Townsend and hammered the Redskins, 21-1. The game ended after five innings. On Tuesday Kingston travels to Port Angeles.
