Olympic Trojans Girls Soccer | Fall Sports Preview

Trojans should contend again for another league title.

2016 record: 16-3, won league title

Head coach: Steve Haggerty

Returning players: GK Karli Taylor, junior; MF Hanna Troy, junior; D Sydney Troy, junior; D Sydney Zeitler, senior.

Key newcomers: MF Saorsie Brown, junior; D Brooklyn Haro, senior; D/MF Zoie Matheny, junior; MF Jayda Day, junior; D Tishara Day, senior.

Outlook: The team should be strong again with Taylor in goal and last year’s leading scorer, Hannah Troy, back for another run. The key central midfield role vacated by the graduated Stephanie Barr will have to be replaced, but Haggerty has a number of talented players at his disposal to fill that role. The Lady Trojans will embark on an ambitious non-league schedule with matches against Steilacoom, Tumwater and Mead, a 4A school in the Spokane area.

Schedule: Sept. 5, 7 p.m. at Steilacoom | Sept. 7, 6:45 p.m., Tumwater | Sept. 8, 3:30 p.m. Mead | Sept. 12, 3:30 p.m., Sequim | Sept. 14, 6:45 p.m. at North Mason | Sept. 19, 6:45 p.m., North Kitsap | Sept. 21, 6:45 p.m. at Port Angeles | Sept. 26, 6:45 p.m. at Kingston | Sept. 28 6:45 p.m., Bremerton | Oct. 3, 3:30 p.m., Klahowya | Oct. 5, 6:45 p.m. at Sequim | Oct. 10, 6:45 p.m., North Mason | Oct. 12, 6:45 p.m. at North Kitsap | Oct. 17, 6:45 p.m., Port Angeles | Oct. 19, 3:30 p.m., Kingston| Oct. 25, 6:45 p.m. at Bremerton
