Olympic Girls Tennis | Spring Sports Preview

HEAD COACH: Jeff Trainer

2016-17 RECORD: 11-2

TOP RETURNING PLAYERS: Marissa Nameth Jr., junior; Brooklyn Haro, senior; Sydney Troy, junior; Sarah Polsin, senior; Karli Taylor, junior; Kaylani Riley, sophomore; Emry Bohlman, junior; DJ Cherrey, junior.

KEY NEWCOMERS: Breanne Nameth, freshman; Ryleigh Barrett, freshman; Alani Pajimula, freshman.

OUTLOOK: After an impressive overall record last season, head coach Jeff Trainer said he expects this team to be competitive in all of its league matches. The Trojans were second only to North Kitsap in the league last year. Other than his No. 1 singles and doubles, Trainer said the biggest weakness he sees is a lack of experience. Although Olympic is athletic from top to bottom and he expects junior varsity athletes to make vast improvements, he confided that some of his athletes “are very raw.”
