North Kitsap girls swimming | Fall Sports Preview

Head coach: Greg Braun

2017 record: 7-0

Key swimmers: Eleanor Beers, jr.; Isabel Hendryx, sr.; Izy Iral, sr.; Claire Stone, sr.; Brianna Hoffman, so.; Layna Hart, so.; Emma Hart, sr.; Anna Schroeder, Kyla Schroeder, Gen Nolet, Kristina Dupont, fr.; Ava Harris, fr.

Outlook: It’s hard not to get excited about North Kitsap’s prospects this season. The team finished second at state last year to Liberty and are absolutely loaded with talent. Beers won the 50 and 100 free and the Vikings won two relays, the 200 medley and the 200 free. Hendryx also finished second in the 100 backstroke, but the winner of that event, Klahowya’s Kira Crane, graduated. A state championship is certainly within reach this year.

Schedule: Sept. 11, 3 p.m., Port Angeles | Sept. 13, 3 p.m., Bremerton | Sept. 20, 3 p.m., at Olympic | Sept. 27, 3 p.m., Klahowya | Oct. 4, 3 p.m., at Sequim | Oct. 11, 3 p.m., at Port Townsend | Oct. 18, 3 p.m., Kingston | Oct. 23, 3 p.m., Last Chance Meet at Port Angeles.
