North Kitsap Girls Basketball | Winter Sports Preview

Head coach: Penny Gienger

2018-2019 record: 16-9 (10-2 OLY 2A)

Key players: Noelani Barreith, sr., G; Grace Johnson, sr., F; Mia McNair, jr., G; Kamora McMillian, so., G; Ayanna Selembo, so., G; Riley Rabedeaux, jr., F/G; Sophia Baugh, fr., G; Katie Komar, sr., C.

Outlook: Barreith and Johnson were major contributors to last year’s team, which lost in the regional round of the state tournament to Anacortes, and they are joined by Olympic League 1A MVP Mia McNair, who played for Chimacum last year and brings her dynamic scoring ability to the lineup. Gienger also gets an infusion of athleticism from youngsters McMillian and Selembo as well as newcomers Rabedeaux and Baugh, both of whom were on North Kitsap’s state volleyball team. They remain a threat to get back to state.
