North Kitsap cross country | Fall Sports Preview

Head coach: Richard Christopher

Boys key runners: Max Metters, jr.; Luke Hensley, so.; Igmin Martinez, jr.; Cole Spadafore, jr.

Girls key runners: Madison Zosa, so.; Jaimie Florent, so.; Dylan Braund, jr.; Jillian Florent, sr.; Audrey Cole, jr.; and Claire Christian, jr.

Outlook: The boys return four of the seven runners that took the team to state last year, while the girls feature Madison Zosa, a sophomore who crushed the field at both the league and district meets last season and took fifth in the state 2A meet. Both teams should be improved this year and could make the trip to Pasco.

Schedule: Sept. 6, 4:30 p.m., Eagle Jamboree | Sept. 15, 9:45 a.m., 41st Salt Creek Invitational | Sept. 19, 4:30 p.m. tri-meet at Port Townsend | Sept. 27, 4:30 p.m., tri-meet at Sequim | Oct. 3, home tri-meet w/Bremerton and Klahowya | Oct. 10, 4:30 p.m. tri-meet at Olympic | Oct. 18, 4:30 p.m., Olympic League Championships at Port Townsend Golf Club.
