Klahowya’s Bumbalough named Athlete of the Week by WIAA

Amber Bumbalough struck out 50 of the 89 hitters she faced over three games

SILVERDALE — After a dominant week both at the plate and in the pitching circle, Klahowya’s Amber Bumbalough was named a WIAA Athlete of the Week.

The Eagles won all three of their games this past week — they beat Sequim 3-2; Bremerton 11-0; and Quilcene 6-2. The Northern Illinois University commit struck out 50 of the 89 batters she faced and went 6 for 11 at the plate with a home run, a triple and three doubles.

Klahowya returns to action today at home against Kingston at 4:15 p.m. The Eagles also play next Wednesday, May 9, at home against Hoquiam and then have a May 11 date at Elma. They have already qualified for the district tournament and will play on May 15 at the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey. Game time TBD.
