Klahowya volleyball | Fall Sports Preview

Head coach: Wendy Kraft

2017 record: 7-9 (5-4)

Key players: Rachel Bailey, jr., setter; Chloe Settle, jr., middle hitter; Taylor Bruce, sr., outside hitter; Maile Lueck, jr., libero; Katie Cooper, so., middle hitter; Grace Christensen, sr., right side hitter.

Outlook: A number of young players received significant playing time last season — three seniors graduated the program and only one was a full-time starter. As is typical of young teams, the Eagles were up and down at times last season and should be more consistent this year. Christensen is a new addition as a transfer from Virginia who should give Klahowya another scoring threat. Look for this team to contend at districts once again and possibly get to state.

Schedule: Sept. 5, 6 p.m. at Crosspoint | Sept. 7, 6:15 p.m. at North Mason | Sept. 10, 6:45 p.m., Elma | Sept. 13, 6:15 p.m. at Chimacum | Sept. 15, 9 a.m., Kitsap Classic (at Kitsap Sun Pavillion) | Sept. 17, 6:15 p.m., Sequim | Sept. 20, 6:15 p.m. at Port Townsend | Sept. 26, 5:45 p.m. at Seattle Christian | Sept. 27, 6:15 p.m., Chimacum | Oct. 2, 6:15 p.m., Port Townsend | Oct. 4, 6:15 p.m., at Chimacum | Oct. 9, 6:15 p.m. at Port Angeles | Oct. 11, 6:15 p.m., Olympic | Oct. 16, 5:45 p.m. at Cascade Christian | Oct. 18, 6:15 p.m., Port Townsend | Oct. 22, 6:15 p.m., Bremerton.
