Klahowya girls swimming | Fall Sports Preview

Head coach: Jeff Anderson

2017 record: 3-4

Key swimmers: Hannah Woelper, sr.; Elizabeth Helmer, jr.; Katie Bailey, jr.; Anna Wells, jr.; Hannah Stewart, so.; Jacklynne Stroup, so.; and Lexi Woelper, so.;

Outlook: The next generation of swimmers takes over with the graduation of two-time state champ Kira Crane. Liz Helmer and Hannah Woelper got a taste of the 2A state meet last year as part of the 200-yard medley relay team and should be the best bets to qualify again. The program has added five new freshman in addition to three sophomores, so the underclassmen will get plenty of opportunities to improve on the varsity team this year.

Schedule: Sept. 11. 3 p.m., Kingston | Sept. 18, 3 p.m. at Port Angeles | Sept. 20, at Bremerton, 2:30 p.m. | Sept. 27, 3 p.m. at North Kitsap | Oct. 4, 3 p.m., Port Townsend | Oct. 9, 3:30 p.m., Tri-District Meet, Olympic and Central Kitsap | Oct. 11, 3 p.m., Sequim | Oct. 18, 3 p.m. at Olympic | Oct. 23, 3 p.m., Division Invitational (Last Chance Meet) at Port Angeles.
