Kingston wrestlers do well in dual match

With participation numbers down, wrestling meets are seeing more matches end with a forfeit than in years past, but the grapplers who remain have forged on this spring.

Last week, Kingston took on Bainbridge and Olympic at Fairview Middle School. Kingston split its two contested matches with Bainbridge, but the Trojans bested them 30-18.

Lad Issa won both of his matches via pin, the first coming against Wyatt Goade of Bainbridge, and the second against Dom Price of Olympic.

Joseph Woods lost a hard-fought battle against Bainbridge’s Harrison Cate and then won a forfeit against Olympic at 120 pounds. Woods ended up wrestling Olympic’s 126-pounder in an exhibition match.

Miles Still got the chance to wrestle as well, and pinned Olympic’s 160-pounder.
