KHS’s Crawford signs with Shoreline CC

Three-sport standout will play baseball for Dolphins next season

KINGSTON — Kingston High School senior, Anderson Crawford committed on Jan. 30 to play baseball for Shoreline Community College next season.

Crawford, lettering three times in football and swimming in addition to baseball, will join the SCC Dolphins next season under head coach Dave Snell.

“He’s really looking forward to the opportunity,” Richard Henert, Kingston High School athletic director said. “It’s great for our school to have our athletes pursuing those opportunities.”

Crawford began playing baseball with North Kitsap Little League. He went on to play for several travel baseball teams including the North Kitsap Warriors, Impact Baseball, West Hills Vipers, and currently plays for Seattle Select.

Ask Crawford about one of his favorite baseball experiences, and he’ll tell you pitching for the North Kitsap Babe Ruth team in the Babe Ruth World Series, hosted in Kitsap County.

Crawford is also active in the Interact Club and is the school’s ASB vice president.

He has been a starting varsity player for the Bucs since his freshman year, and was chosen as the team’s MVP for the 2016 season.

Though Crawford is only committed to playing baseball at Shoreline Community College, Henert said his participation in multiple sports at the high school level “has paid off.”

“It’s cool for him to represent three sports,” he said.

It’s nice to see these community colleges around here offer opportunity the opportunity to get a higher education without committing to a big school, Henert said. And that’s what Crawford plans to do.

Shoreline Community College has two North Region titles and has had seven NWAC playoff appearances.
