KHS alum Wildung bats .301 for PLU

Curtis Wildung, a Kingston High School grad who now catches for Pacific Lutheran University, batted .301 with two home runs, 12 RBI, 23 runs and three stolen bases for the Lutes in their 2015 conference-title season.

TACOMA – Curtis Wildung, a Kingston High School grad who now catches for Pacific Lutheran University, batted .301 with two home runs, 12 RBI, 23 runs and three stolen bases for the Lutes in their 2015 conference-title season.

PLU closed out the season with a 32-14 record after winning the program’s third Northwest Conference title and advancing to the NCAA Regionals for the second time in team history.

Wildung, 22, lettered in baseball, football, and wrestling at Kingston High School and earned all-league honors his sophomore, junior and senior years, then went on to a remarkable collegiate baseball career. He played for the Wenatchee Applesox in 2012 when the Sox won the West Coast League championship. In 2013, he started for PLU in 39 of 40 games he appeared in and led the team with 13 doubles and 25 RBIs. In 2014, he started in all games he appeared in, led the team in walks with 26 and ranked second on the team in runs with 19.

Wildung is majoring in business marketing and, according to the Lutes website, he hopes to become a rep for Wilson Sporting Goods.
