Five NK and two Kingston gymnasts are bound for state

KENT — A total of seven gymnasts, five from North Kitsap and two from Kingston, have qualified for the state meet.

Grace Billings, Junko Ketch, Caytlin Johnson, Ginger Silfies and Kelli Stevens all qualified for one or more state events for North Kitsap, as did Kingston’s Annelise Pardee and Anna Quinn at the 2A/3A West Central District III meet.

The state meet begins Thursday at Sammamish High School and the finals will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 22.

North Kitsap finished fourth out of 16 teams. Billings qualified for state in all four events and tied with Ketch for fourth on the vault. Ketch qualified in vault, bars and floor exercises. Kelli Stevens qualified for the vault and balance beam and Caytlin Johnson and Ginger Silfies will participate on the balance beam.

For Kingston, Pardee will take part in the uneven bars and balance beam while Quinn will be in the floor exercises.
