Eagles strike Trojans in new bowling season

The Klahowya Eagles swept the Olympic Trojans girls bowling teams to begin the bowling season Nov. 8.

The Eagles won the individual matchups 631-509 and 664-427. In addition, Klahowya won the two Bakers games 145-101 and 121-65.

Both teams show they have separate expectations heading into the season.

Klahowya is the returning league champion with their top two bowlers back. On the other hand, Olympic’s lineup is filled with bright-eyed freshmen looking to learn the sport.

They squared off in two games with five-bowler teams.

For Klahowya Eagle captain Lucy Mitchell scored 163 while Hailey Johnson led the team with a 182 in the first game. Salina Stroup scored 107, Nevaeh Glance 97, and Ray Ventura finished with an 82.

Klahowya continued to hoist high scores in the second game. Johnson scored 166 while Mitchell finished right behind with 160. Stroup fell in between with 164, and Ventura and Glance scored 87 and 72.
