Central Kitsap Baseball

Head coach: Bill Baxter

2018 record: 14-10 (10-4)

Key players: Owen Davies, sr., pitcher/infielder; Greyson McCormick, sr., shortstop/pitcher; Austin McMinds, sr., catcher/outfielder; Malo Castro, sr., second base; Kade Coombe, jr., third base/pitcher.

Outlook: The Cougars have a deep and talented pitching staff returning from last year’s 3A state team and should be one of the stingier teams around. They will have to replace a few of their best offensive players to graduation, but should still push across enough runs to compete for another league title and get back to the state tournament.

Schedule: March 16, 3 p.m., Lake Stevens | March 19, 4 p.m., Yelm | March 20, 4 p.m., at Yelm | March 23, 1 p.m., Kelso | March 26, 4 p.m., Timberline | March 27, 4 p.m., at Timberline | March 30, 1 p.m., South Kitsap | April 1, 4 p.m., at Shelton | April 2, 4 p.m., Shelton | April 9, 4 p.m., at Peninsula | April 10, 4 p.m., Peninsula | April 13, 1 p.m., Bonney Lake | April 16, 4 p.m., at North Thurston | April 17, 4 p.m., North Thurston | April 22, 4 p.m., Capital | April 24, 4 p.m., at Capital | April 26, 4 p.m., at Gig Harbor | April 29, 4 p.m., Gig Harbor.
