Bremerton Baseball | Spring Sports Preview

HEAD COACH: Steve Dickey

2016-17 RECORD: 2-12

TOP RETURNING PLAYERS: Preston Jones, senior; Eli Isenhart, senior; Andy McMartin, junior; Hector Infante, junior; Hansen Bell, junior.

KEY NEWCOMERS: Michael Barber, senior; Antonio Garcia, junior; Ryan Saylor, junior; Estan Wakanabo, junior; Ethan Farley, freshman.

OUTLOOK: Head coach Stephen Dickey, who spent the past five seasons at South Kitsap High School as an assistant baseball coach, found an opportunity to become the head coach for the Knights — so he took it. The Knights only won 20 percent of their league games. In fact, you have to go back to the 2013-14 season to find the last time Bremerton finished with an above-average league record. Polishing skills will be a theme throughout the year for a defense that allowed nine runs per game on average last season and an offense that scored just over two per game. With this being his first year at the helm, Dickey said he is trying to help his team improve day in and day out.
