Willa L. Snoey

Willa L. Snoey, 80

Poulsbo resident Willa Lou Snoey died Jan. 8, 2006 in Bremerton. She was 80.

She was born to Oliver A. and Ozetta I. (Bourassa) Peltier on Dec. 17, 1925 in Cushing, Okla.

Snoey married William Snoey II on March 31, 1944.

She attended Shawnee High School in Shawnee, Okla.

Snoey worked at Willa Point Oyster Plant in Poulsbo in the early ‘70s and was a Goodwill representative in the North Kitsap area.

As a youth, she enjoyed basketball and softball. In her younger years, she was on a local bowling team.

She also enjoyed gardening, sports, camping, boating, fishing and spending time with her family.

Snoey is survived by her son William Snoey III of Poulsbo; daughter Sheila Diane (Ken) Hagar of Bremerton; brother Kenneth Peltier of Shawnee, Okla.; sister Kathleen Kiker of Shawnee, Okla.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: sisters Mildred Shimmel, Ruby Irwin and Annetta Barrett-Cannon and brothers Gerald, Raymond and Oliver “Bud” Peltier.

A visitation will take place from 9 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Jan. 16 at The Stone Chapel in Poulsbo. A service will follow at 1 p.m.

Burial will follow at Cherry Grove Memorial Park.
