Virgil H. Freiboth, 70

Virgil Henry Freiboth of Poulsbo died Dec. 24, 2004 in Poulsbo. He was 70.

Frieboth was born in Terry, Mont. to Hank and Maye Freiboth on Sept. 4, 1934.

He moved to Poulsbo in 1942 and graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1953. Freiboth joined the United States Air Force in 1954. While stationed in England, he met and married his wife Margaret on October 5, 1957.

After working 20 years as a dental lab tech, Freiboth retired from the Air Force in 1974 and moved back to his hometown of Poulsbo. He worked for Dr. Nicholas Skalabrin as a dental lab tech for another 22 years and then stayed on and worked for his son, Dr. Richard Freiboth from 1992 until his retirement in 2000.

He loved visiting with family and friends, playing baseball, dancing, and traveling with his RV Club, and his loyal and faithful dog, Buddy. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #3586 and served two terms as President.

Freiboth is survived by his wife Margaret; sons Bob (Angie) of Poulsbo, Rick (Kari) of Port Orchard, and Paul (Ann) of Kingston; brothers, Marlyn (Rose) Freiboth of Poulsbo, and Duane Freiboth of Poulsbo; sisters, Lila Brazeau of Suquamish, Agnes (Elmer) Longmate of Kingston, Darlene (Bob) Goninan of Suquamish; sister-in-law, Geri (Doug) Vondersmith of Poulsbo; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Delmer; brother-in-law Bob Brazeau; and sister-in-law JoAnn Freiboth.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 29 at The Stone Chapel in Poulsbo. A memorial service is planned at 1 p.m. Dec. 30 at the Eagle Lodge in Poulsbo, followed by a reception at the lodge. Arrangements are under the direction of the Stone Chapel in Poulsbo. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
