Tracy Overby, 39

Tracy Overby, 39, died Nov. 12 at Harrison Medical Center. She was born June 16, 1969 in Murray, Utah to Dorothy and Harland Sylling. They lived in Long Beach, Calif., and Klamath Falls, Ore., before moving to Poulsbo in 1981. She graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1987.

On April 5, 1988, she married Erik Overby in Couer d’Alene, Idaho. They settled in Seattle. She attended the Aesthetics program at Seattle Central Community College in 1992.

After having multiple heart surgeries, Overby had a heart transplant on May 11, 1996.

Overby was a member of First Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and participated in the bell choir. Cooking was also one of her passions.

She is preceded in death by her father, Harland, grandparents, Leon and Jean Kostusak and uncle Leo Kostusak.

Survivors include her loving husband of 20 years, Erik; children Erik, Jr., Jakob and Tia; mother Dorothy, step-mother, Dana Jinzo; sister Denise Kostusak; brother Harland Sylling, Jr. and eight nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church today at 2 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to The Stone Chapel.
