Susan Diane Ostrand Stack, a lifelong resident of Bainbridge Island, passed away at her home January 17, 2022 following a sudden illness. She was 76 years old.

Susie, the youngest of three daughters, was born April 9, 1945 to A. Edgar Ostrand and Mildred (Lundgren) Ostrand. Susie was a third and fourth-generation descendant of Swedish pioneers on Bainbridge Island.

Susie attended Commodore Elementary, graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1963 and studied at Olympic College before she started to work at Keyport where she met her husband, John W. Stack. The two were married in June of 1969.

Susie served on the board for the Port Blakely Cemetery. She enjoyed working there on special days.

Susie is survived by her husband, John, of 52 years, sisters Jean (Don) Danielson of Poulsbo and Joyce (Gene) Start of Idaho Falls, brother- in law Louis Stack (Joan) and sister-in-law Marcia Snyder (Fred) and five nieces and nephews – Lori Danielson, Gary Danielson, Sharon Oliver, David Start and Steven Start. She is also survived by twelve great nieces and nephews and 8 great-great nieces and nephews. She is survived by four cousins – Robert Ostrand, Judy Soderlund Ragland, Shirley Carlson Jenkins, and William Carlson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.
