Grace, 87, passed away on February 5, 2019. She was born on October 7, 1931 in Seattle to Gertrude and Iver Dahl.

Grace graduated from Ballard High School and the University of Washington with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. Grace taught at Broadview Elementary School in Seattle and also in Japan following World War II. She married Stanley Dale Overby on September 3rd, 1962 and they subsequently moved to Poulsbo.

Grace loved caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Scandinavian folk-dancing with Stan, camping in the Olympic National Park and skiing at Snoqualmie Mountaineers. She attended First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo.

She is survived by daughter Tani Stafford, son and daughter-in-law Kris and Monica Overby, son Erik Overby Sr.; seven grandchildren – Ava & Maia Overby, Tia Overby, Kyle & Karina Stafford, Jakob & Erik Overby, Jr.; and two great-grandchildren – Anders & Gracie May Overby.

A memorial service is scheduled for Friday February 22nd at First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo at 1:00pm. Remembrances may be made to Poulsbo First Lutheran Church or the Poulsbo Sons of Norway Scholarship Fund.
