Ruth Ryan, 91

Ruth Skelley Ryan of Lofall died April 12, 2007 in Bremerton. She was 91.

Ryan was born to Newton and Flora (Whitford) Skelley in Seattle on May 14, 1915.

Ryan married Paul Parris in 1937, and later married Stan Ryan in 1947.

She graduated from North Kitsap Union High School in 1933 and attended business college in Seattle.

She ran her own bookkeeping service for several years, then worked for Fred Hill Materials and James Brix, CPA, retiring in 1987.

She was a member of the North Kitsap Friends of the Library, Poulsbo Historical Society and Sons of Norway. She was also a reading tutor at Breidablik Elementary School.

Ryan is survived by her son Michael (Nell) Parris of Lofall; brother Homer Skelley of Lofall; two grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.

Ryan was preceded in death by her husband Stan Ryan.

At her request there will be no services. Memorial gifts may be sent to the NK Friends of the Library or the Poulsbo Historical Society.
