Roland ‘Pat’ Patterson

Roland ‘Pat’ Patterson, 78

Roland “Pat” Patterson of Poulsbo died April 14, 2004 on Bainbridge Island. He was 78.

Patterson was born to Roland S. Sr. and Clara A. (Kinney) Patterson in North Dakota on Nov. 1, 1925.

He married Shirley Patterson in Seattle in 1951.

Patterson graduated from Oakland High School in Oakland, Calif. in 1943 and then from the University of Washington in Seattle.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1945 and then owned Westlake Cleaners in Seattle for more than 20 years. He enjoyed square dancing.

Patterson is survived by his son Steve Patterson of Chicago, Ill., brother Gary (Toni) Wiley of Sequim and sister Joyce (Allen) Miller of Hansville.

He was preceded in death by his ex-wife Shirley Patterson and son Mark.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. April 19 at Faith Lutheran Church in Kingston. Inurnment will take place in Seattle. Arrangements are under the direction of The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove Memorial Park of Poulsbo.

Clayton ‘Toddy’ Steward, 94

Clayton F. “Toddy” Steward of Suquamish died March 19, 2004 in Bremerton. He was 94.

Steward was born to Fred Clarence and Mary Steward in Ballard on June 6, 1909.

He married Mary L. “Val” Steward.

Steward graduated from high school. He worked as a welder at the Bremerton shipyard, Bangor, Keyport and in Alaska.

He loved shooting trap, gardening, fishing, hunting and trips to Canada.

Steward is survived by his son Howard (Joan) Steward of Suquamish, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary L. “Val” Steward.

No services were held.
