Robert W. Lanning, 67

Robert “Bob” Lanning, 67, of Poulsbo died July , after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Nov. 16, 1940, in Port Townsend to Walter and Irene (Croxton) Lanning.

He graduated from North Kitsap High School with the class of 1958 and from Olympic College. He served in the National Guard. Lanning worked as a transportation foreman at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for many years, retiring in April 1993.

He was a member of the NK Eagles.

Lanning married Sandra Olson Jan 1, 1965 in Poulsbo; they were later divorced.

He was preceded in death by his father Walter, brother John and grandson Joseph.

He is survived by his mother Irene; son Stephen; wife Tracey; daughters Candace (Mark) Fisher, Catherine Lanning, Christen Lanning; brother Frank (Nancy) Burton; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
