Robert Louis Triebenbach

Robert Louis Triebenbach, 85, of Poulsbo, WA, passed away on October 17, 2019. Louis was born August 23, 1934 in Osakis, MN to Paul and Elizabeth (Beckers) Triebenbach. On February 14, 1959 in Hector, MN, Louis married Violet I. Nordlund. After graduating from Osakis High School, Louis worked on a boat on the Great Lakes, and after, worked on the Railroad out of St. Paul, MN. He served honorably in the US Army Reserves and was selected to be in the Choir. Louis built a Roller Rink on Lake Osakis and also had boat rentals, bait, gas and provisions for a successful day on the lake. After about 9 years, Louis moved to Poulsbo. He worked for an oyster company, then joined the Carpenter/Millwright Union and worked for them until he retired. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Kingston, WA and in his spare time enjoyed saw milling and raising farm animals. Louis is preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, David; daughter, Anne Fox; brother, Eli; sister, Norma Hollingsworth; and brother-in-law, Everett Berg. Louis’ memory will live on with his wife, Violet of 60 years; sons, Neil (Cathryn), Mark (Sarah), and Lee (Gloria) Triebenbach; daughter, Kay (Rick) Wilson; brother, Jerry (Ardell) and Roger (Cathryn) Triebenbach; sister, Sonja Berg; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 26736 Miller Bay Rd NE Kingston, WA on November 2, 2019 at 2:00pm. He was known as Barefoot Louis in Minnesota and Poor Louis in Washington.
