Father Gary was born June 23, 1947 to Lucille Carmen Zellesma Weisenberger and Anthony Wayne Weisenberger. He was called home to the Lord on September 4, 2021. He is survived by many cousins including his cousin James Turowski of Seabeck, WA.

Father Gary was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Seattle on June 18, 1977, after attending the Saint Thomas Seminary in Kenmore, WA and earning a Master’s Degree in Theology.

Father Gary first served as Vicar at St. Bernadette’s church in Burien, from 1976 – 1980. He then served at St. Gabriel’s church in Port Orchard with Father Pat O’Neil. Next he served six years at ST. Francis church in Friday Harbor, then in 1991 to Immaculate Conception church in Arlington. Father Gary then served 13 years at St. Nicholas Church in Gig Harbor where he helped build a new school. Father Gary then served at St. Martin of Tours in Fife from 2004 – 2015

Father Gary graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1965, then the University of Washington in 1969 with a BBA Degree in Business Administration. Father was then employed by the FDIC as a Bank Examiner before entering the Seminary. Father enjoyed hiking with his cousin Jim Turowski as well as breaking bread both liturgically and socially with many good friends.

Father’s favorite Bible Verse is JN 14:18 “You will never be orphaned.”

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, September 23, 2021, 11:00 am St. Marin of Tours Catholic Church, Fife, WA. A Vigil Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, September 22, 2021 7:00 pm also at St. Martin of Tours. Interment, Monday, September 27, 2021 11:00 am Forest Lawn Cemetery in Bremerton, WA. In lieu of flowers Remembrances for Father can be made to the Saint Vincent DePaul Conference at St. Martin of Tours. Please leave online condolences at www.gaffneycares.com.
