Pamela Bayley Willis Price

May 28, 1930 - January 29, 2022

Pam, as she like to be called, always said her love of horses came from being born in The Year of The Horse, in the Chinese Calendar.

After divorcing her high school sweetheart, Robert Carey Durgin, and father of her eldest child, Lynn Durgin Schuk, of Telkwa, B.C. Canada, Pam worked for a Thoroughbred Farm in Long Beach, California, and purchased breeding stock at the sales in Kentucky, in the early 1950’s. At this time, it was unusual for a woman to be given this responsibility. She followed the Thoroughbred world of horses and kept up with the bloodlines of the racing stock, until her death.

Pam ranched in Oklahoma, with her second husband, Harold Lee Price, father of Julie Price Gordon, Shawnee Price, and Charles Price until they relocated to Southern California, and became affiliated with “The Business” of Hollywood, where her husband worked as a stuntman.

Widowed at a young age, Pam relocated to Bainbridge Island, Washington with her four children, living with her mother at Agate Point, until her children flew the nest.

Pam obtained her Seaman’s Papers and travelled the Seven Seas as Chief Steward on the R/V Robert D.Conrad research vessel.

In her Golden Years, Pam lived with her partner, Joe Vazniz, in Oregon and travelled extensively, visiting her offspring. In 2013 Pam arrived in B.C. Canada for an extended visit with her daughter Lynn and Lynn’s husband Calvin. Pam spent her last years living in the Bulkley Lodge in Smithers, B.C. Canada.

Pam is survived by her four children: Lynn Durgin (Calvin) Schuk and their children; Harold (Sarai) Schuk and his daughters Zyana and Kalena, Howard (Kayo) Schuk, and Rebecca Schuk, who all who live in Canada. Her daughter Julie Price Gordon and her family; son Zachary, daughter Ashley both predeceased, daughter Alexandra and son Nicholas of Washington State, Her daughter Shawnee Price and her son Marlon of Washington State, her son Charles Price and his husband Glenn Withey of Washington State. As well as two half siblings; Donald Willis and Rosemary Willis Wells of Washington State.

She is also predeceased by her sisters Mary Randlett, Betsy Lawrence and Petie Baldwin.

As per Pam’s wishes, no formal service will be held at this time.
