Noreen A. Nielsen, the wife of Burl Nielsen passed away at Harrison Medical Center on Sunday March 5, 2006 following a courageous fight with cancer. She was 70 years old.

She was born and raised in the San Francisco area, married young and traveled the world. She enjoyed many hobbies including landscaping, gardening clubs, golf, cooking, wine making, sailing and wood carving.

She was ambitious, loved life, loved people and lived life to its fullest. She touched the hearts of many people and was truly loved by all. She will be dearly remembered and deeply missed by her family and friends.

Nielsen is survived by her husband, four children Kevin (Elizabeth) Ferguson, Karen (Paul) Arndt, Ken (Cecillia) Ferguson and Keith Ferguson (partner Mark Dziekan); and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be noon to 7 p.m. March 9, 2006 at Lewis Funeral Chapel, 5303 Kitsap Way. The funeral mass will be 11 a.m. March 10, 2006 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church 1150 Mitchell Ave. in Port Orchard.

Burial service will be March 11, 2006 at Holy Cross cemetery at Menlo Park, Calif. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society or St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church for replacement of the stained glass windows.
