Maria Gros, 100

Maria Gros of Roseburg, Ore. died Feb. 19, 2007 in Kingston. She was 100.

Gros was born in the Netherlands on Oct. 6, 1906.

Six years after World War II ended, Gros came to America with her two young sons to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She became a U.S. citizen in 1958.

Gros celebrated her 100th birthday on Oct. 6, 2006 surrounded by her family.

Gros is survived by her two sons ; a daughter ; eight grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Gros was preceded in death by two husbands and 14 siblings.

A private graveside service will be held by the family.
