Josephine R. Ciaccio | Passings

Josephine R. Ciaccio, 90, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2018 in Poulsbo, Washington.

Born in Brooklyn, New York to Rosalie and Joseph Giannone, she grew up in Hempstead, on Long Island, New York. Josephine attended Hempstead High School and worked in finance companies in New York after high school graduation. She also worked in the business office at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, New York.

Josephine moved to New Port Richie, Florida later in life to spend her retirement years with her husband Joseph. In Florida she volunteered with the Lighthouse for the Blind and made heart pillows at the local hospital for cardiac patients.

In her later years Josephine moved to Poulsbo, Washington to be with her daughter and family. She enjoyed going to Seattle, the ocean and out to breakfast.

At home she loved reading, crossword puzzles, and playing cards with her friends at Hostmark Apartments. Her dog Sprocket was her best friend and companion for many years. Josephine also enjoyed working with children and was a proud volunteer with Rolling Readers at Poulsbo Elementary School.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Bob) Middlebrook; son, Michael (Sandy) Ciaccio; grandsons Bryan (Misty) Middlebrook, Craig Middlebrook and Gregory (Laura) Ciaccio; great- granddaughters Charlotte Paige and Coraline Jo Ciaccio; and nephew, Joseph Giannone.

Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ciaccio; mother, Rosalie; father, Joseph Giannone; niece, Rosalie; brother, Vincent Giannone; and granddaughter, Janice Lynn Middlebrook.
