Joe A. O’Brien, 81, passed away October 11, 2019 at home. He was born June 16, 1938, in Chicago IL, the son of Joseph Tracey O’Brien and Grace L. (Mosby) O’Brien.

Joe graduated in 1956 from Bremen High School. From 1959-1962, he served in the United States Army. He accomplished a BA of Arts ED at the U of W and an MA/MFA in Ceramics at Northern Illinois University. He was an accomplished ceramic artist and teacher.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years Elida M. O’Brien, son Ian T. O’Brien, daughters Ingrid Groelsma, Kelly M. O’Brien, Megan K. O’Brien and 3 grandchildren (Marley, Anuhea, Kealaalohi.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct 26 at the Cook Family Funeral Home. 163 Wyatt Way NE Bainbridge Island, WA 98110
