Harriett Jacobsen

Harriett M. Jacobsen, 94, a former Bremerton resident, died May 6 2002 at Marine Courte in Bremerton. She was born Sept. 10, 1908 in Lynden, Wash., to James and Ann (Fellerdewex) Hill.

She graduated from Lynden High School in 1925 and St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Bellingham in 1930. She was a nurse in Kitsap County for 42 years, retiring in 1972.

She belonged to Retired Nurses Guild in Port Orchard and Belling-ham, she loved to sew, knit and travel. She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard and Holy Trinity in Bremerton.

She is survived by her sons Stephen foster of Port Ludlow, Dave Foster of Port Orchard, Don Foster of Trialdelphia, W. Va. and Richard Jacobsen of Everett; daughters Harriett Robinson of Auburn, Linda San Gregory of Tiffin, Ohio, and Martha Morken of Bremerton; 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Harriett was preceded in death by her daughter Rosalie Black, her son Eugene Jacobsen, her first husband Floyd E. Foster and her second husband Paul Jacobsen.

Services were held May 10, 2002, at Rill Chapel. Inurnment was at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard. Arrangements were made by Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
