Francis J. Convy

Francis Joseph “Frank” Convy died May 6 in Poulsbo. He was 75.

Convy was born to James Convy and Katherine Harvey (Kearns) Convy in Boston, Mass. on June 28, 1927.

He married Josephine Deleo in Revere, Mass.

Convy grew up in the Boston, Mass. and lived there until 1981. He received a bachelor’s degree in music from Boston University and then a master’s degree in psychology from Assumption College. Convoy also lived in the San Francisco, Calif. area, before moving to Kitsap County in 1990.

Convy served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 during the Korean Conflict and achieved the rank of corporal.

He was a life long musician who also loved singing, writing, poetry and nature.

Convy is survived by his son Kevin Convy of Kingston; daughters Jennifer Culkin of Bainbridge Island, Bernadette Celestin of Kingston, Christine Convy of Austin, Texas and Camille Fredericksen of Poulsbo; sisters Katherine Portalla of Nashua, N.H. and Joan Lindeman; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Josephine (Deleo) Convy and sister Ruth Nastari.

A private service was held May 10 in Port Townsend with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Port Townsend.
