Evan Theodore Tong was born May 16, 1996 in Newport Beach, California, to Carol and Barney Tong. Evan flew to heaven Dec. 28, 2013 at the young age of 17.
Evan is survived by his parents, Carol Tong of Poulsbo and Barney Tong of Newport Beach, Calif.; his sister, Nicole Kiyoko Tong; his “Papa Frank” Mascaro of Poulsbo; and “Granny Ann,” Mary Ann Mascaro, of Costa Mesa, Calif.
Evan attended North Kitsap School District schools, where he made many lifelong friends, all of whom loved him deeply. Evan will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. He was the kind of young man that anyone would be proud to call son, grandson, brother and friend.
A memorial fund is being set up for his sister Nicole’s education at Kitsap Credit Union. Please contact the bank for more information. The family gratefully thanks you.
Memorial service is scheduled for 4 p.m., Jan. 10, 2014 at the House of Awakened Culture, 7235 NE Parkway, Suquamish.
