Elizabeth Barber Murray

1932 - 2021

Liz passed away from us on the afternoon of June 27. It was a sunny Sunday after noon. She was preceded in death by her parents, her youngest son Doyle, and her husband Richard as well as her greatest friends Pete Konichek and Gay Hill.

Elizabeth was born a Jersey girl, loved school and horses, was a college student, and a member of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. When she was in her early 20’s she made her way to Los Angeles, California, bought a spiffy Austen Healy convertible sports car and quickly joined a racing club where she met Richard. They soon married and started traveling the west and settled in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Liz loved camping and fishing, was a good skier, but her real passion was rose gardening. When the family moved to Bainbridge Island, she planted dozens of roses in the front of the yard looking over Manzanita Bay.

Liz was a member of the local Kiwanis club, The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and PEO. She worked at John L. Scott as a realtor as well as working with the Winslow city council.

Please join us on October 10th at the Wing Point Golf and Country Club in Winslow for a celebration of life gathering. Event starts at 1:00pm until 3:00 or so. There will be food and drink, tears and laughter, her music and lots of memories. Come meet the Barber and Murray families as we will all be there.
